There is no better way to spend the first part of our Sundays than in the house of God fellowshipping with the congregation of the mighty; this is where we receive that glorious word of God that puts us ahead in the new week, and what a word we received this Sunday as Pastor continued her teaching on spiritual understanding, exhorting us to pray with God’s word for our lives.
We started by receiving joyfully into our hearts, the word for the month- it is the month of progress and as we learn the word every Sunday, Pastor declared visible progress in our lives this month.
She continued by emphasizing that right from our being born into the world, God set relationships- with our father, mother and siblings- as a means to provide and help us in life; making it obvious that if God will help you, he has set people that he will use and she recalled how we learnt in the last service about Lot, and his misunderstanding of spiritual relationship which cost him everything.
Continuing on that path, Pastor showed us how in the early church, Joseph (surnamed Barnabas by the Apostles) was an exemplary and good man, and how through the leading and instruction of God’s spirit, began working with the Apostle Paul towards the gentiles, but having placed a condition that John Mark must go with them in their second missionary trip- a condition that was never set by the holy ghost from the start- and left on his own angrily when he had a sharp contention with Apostle Paul, who refused to take John (who had previously abandoned them in their first trip), purposefully disobeyed God’s instruction concerning his ministry and walked out of God’s plan for his life.
Pastor showed us how his lack of understanding of divine relationships caused him to forego- and give conditions that were irrelevant to- God’s original mandate. She also shared how his anger aided his decision and continued in that light, teaching us about Moses; who missed entering the promise land, having not sanctified God in the eyes of the children of Israel by refusing to keep God’s specific instruction (to speak to the rock as against smiting the rock) because he was angry.
She ended by cautioning us to ensure we never make decisions in anger because the word of God has clearly stated that anger does not work God’s righteousness.
We were full and expressed our gratitude to God while programming our lives to walk in his word, even as Pastor led us in prayer and prophecy sessions after the message.
