Last Sunday’s service was themed “Spiritual Man” and we will forever be grateful for the glory of God manifested in this special service and for the blessings we received through the word.

Pastor began sharing from the beginning how the devil deceived Eve into eating of the fruit God had instructed them not to eat by questioning God’s word to them, after that encounter, Adam and Eve hid themselves from God and when God asked asked why they were hiding, Adam responded that they hid themselves because they saw that they were naked. God’s response to him shows his expectation for man, he asked Adam who told him that he was naked, his expectation was that no matter what he saw or felt, man would only live his life based on what he had been told by God. We went on to see that many generations later, Satan approached Jesus with the same gimmick questioning what God had told him about being his son, but Jesus judging the situation rightly replied that man ought to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, it didn’t matter what he saw or did, as long as God had said he was his son, he was going to live based on that word.

Pastor went on to show us in the word the hallmark of a spiritual man, we learnt that the spiritual man judges all things through the word, he does not respond in a haste based on what he sees or how he feels, rather, he finds out what God’s will is through his word and responds accordingly. We learnt from Jesus our example, he spoke often of judging nothing by his own self but only judging according to what he heard from his Father and he instructed us to likewise not judge according to appearance but to judge righteous judgement which means to judge situations by the word of God because the word is truth.

Pastor took us on some practical sessions of judging situations as spiritual men according to God’s will and responding accordingly, we learnt to walk in love irrespective of the situation, to control our emotions with the word of God, to stay anxiety-free even in the midst of challenges, to count all things joy, to submit to the word of God and to resist the devil, we were inspired to live our lives as spiritual men, responding only according to the word of God and reaping the rewards thereof, we had such a glorious experience in the presence of God’s word and you can to.
