It was an excellent SUED service yesterday as Pastor reminded us that there is a devil who is working actively to get people discouraged, have people give up, or think about all the things they didn’t do right. But that’s why the word of God gave us the information so we won’t consider it strange when that happens to us.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” Ephesians 6:10-11
The word of God tells us to put on the whole armor of God, for we are wrestling with invincible spirits called wickedness in high places:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. Ephesians 6:12
So when that evil spirit comes with thoughts of regret, discouragement and all, we should remember that is satan and immediately we cast him out.
“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6:16
Finally, she specifically enlightened us on the necessity of the shield of faith as a necessary tool towards quenching the darts of the devil- that means the shield should be used as an offence weapon and not just for defense. Knowing fully well, that faith involves speaking: “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” 2 Corinthians 4:13, when satan throws his missiles via thoughts, we speak the word of God boldly and quench those fiery darts!
