Last Sunday service was a glorious wrap to the month of progress as we learnt about managing relationships from the perspective of God’s word, we received clarity on how to behave in different kind of relationships as shown to us in God’s word.

We saw from Colossians 3:20 and Ephesians 5:1-2 that in our nuclear family, our role as children is to obey our parents in all Lord and to honour them at all times because doing so is well pleasing to God, this also comes with a promise, the promise of a long and prosperous life on the earth, we learnt not to be found arguing with or rebuking our parents as doing so translates to setting ourselves against the word of God, instead, we ought to honour them and bless them with our substance.

We went on to learn from Ephesians 6:5-8 and Colossians 3:22-25, how to conduct ourselves in the workplace, the word tells us to conduct ourselves as servants of Christ and to do God’s will from our hearts, not to act with eyeservice but to be sincere in our service wherever we find ourselves. We also learnt about spiritual relationships, we are instructed in Hebrews 13:17 to obey and submit to our spiritual leaders who are responsible for our spiritual welfare knowing that this is profitable for us, Pastor charged us to not be rude to them nor despise them for any reason but rather to esteem them highly for their work’s sake as we are admonished to in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13.

Pastor counselled us to not be like those who have chosen a lifestyle of rebellion, always fighting with their authority either in the home, workplace or church, she reminded us that greatness is in humility and admonished us to take the path of greatness in our relationships with all men.

We learnt from Jesus’ example of humility in Philippians 2:1-6, he was God yet he humbled himself as a man while he was on the earth, Pastor charged us to have the same attitude in the house of God, to treat others with honour and esteem and to never look down on anyone irrespective of their status in life compared to ours. Pastor thereafter led us to pray that God would help us fulfil our role in our various relationships the way we ought to, that we’d always remember what the word of God has said and allow it control our responses so that our lives become a manifest fulfilment of the word of God.

What a blessing to be instructed by the word of God. The audio and video messages are available for download at pastorebi.org/sermons and instagram.com/PastorEbiVL respectively.
