Hallelujah! It was a glorious atmosphere of faith and the miraculous at the Faith Congress last Sunday, the meeting left everyone of us transformed, enlightened and inspired to function by faith consistently and to walk in victory.

In the first session, Pastor began to remind us that the only way we can live our lives in a manner that is pleasing to God is when we walk by faith. Pastor went on to share core truths on the principle of faith;

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

We learnt that faith is not hope, neither is it believing, it is the substance of what you have hoped for, the evidence that you have it, when you have faith, it would show in the way you talk, there would be a confidence with which you talk because you are not hoping to have it, you know you have it.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

Pastor taught that the man who is still believing God to get something needs to have faith and the only way that happens is by listening more and more to God’s word, growing our faith is not a mystery, all we need to do is to listen more to the word.

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” 2 Corinthians 4:13

Faith believes what has been written and speaks, it is seen in the way we speak, when we desire something, all we have to do is hear God say we have it and say the same thing in agreement, the word of God is the evidence we need and God wants us to live with the confidence he gives to us through his word.

God’s word tells us that whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world, in our walk of faith, challenges will arise but with our faith, we subdue them and that is why the word of God instructs us in 1 Timothy 6:12 to fight. Pastor concluded the first session by emphasising that a Christian is a fighter, we are those who are strong and who fight for what is right, different things may come to make us doubt what we have believed but we insist, refusing to change our confessions and expectations, because we are the righteous ones.

The second session was an even deeper exposé into the subject of working our faith, Pastor began by reminding us that in using our faith, things will often happen contrary to what we have said but we must learn to insist on what we have spoken, she showed us that Jesus experienced this when he said Lazarus would not die and yet he died, Jesus did not begin to feel sorry or apologise in response, he insisted on what he had said because faith insists.

We went on to learn about faith and prophecy, God does not want us to live our lives by chance, he wants us to know what his plan his and to insist on it, the word of God instructs us to covet to prophesy, we saw in Hebrews 11:3 how God framed the world; arranging the various dispensations and setting them in motion through his word, he did this through his prophets who spoke of the future, we learnt that when they spoke, they were not just giving information, rather, they were setting things in motion through their words, in the same way, there are dispensations in our lives and it is our responsibility to frame them with our words, through faith, we can prophesy into our future and determine what would happen at different times.

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;” Romans 12:6

The word of God teaches us to prophesy according to the proportion of faith, the good news is there is no limitation to how much faith we can have, we can increase our faith by listening to more and more of the word and prophesy accordingly.

In 1 Timothy 1:18, Paul charged Timothy to wage a good warfare with the prophecies that had gone before on him, when we have prophesied about our future and strange things contrary to what we have said begin to happen, it is time to fight with the prophecies, Jesus had many opportunities to die but he knew that they were not according to the prophecies concerning him so he refused to succumb until it was the right time and until it was according to the plan, the prophecies do not mean that things would not happen contrary to them, but we make war with the prophecies and we win.

Pastor concluded by reading from Ezekiel 37:1-10, we saw and learnt from how God taught the prophet Ezekiel to prophesy upon dry bones and cause them to live, God also instructed him to prophesy to the winds calling them forth to breath upon the bones, as he did, there was a noise and a shaking and the change happened among the bones where it was needed, as we prophesy into our future, wherever there needs to be a change, it is being effected and just like the prophet Ezekiel did, we can call forth the resources we require at every point in our future.
