“And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?…”
Matthew 8:26
Jesus had a question for his disciples after they woke him up from sleep with these words:
“…Lord, save us: we perish.” Matthew 8:25
Interesting! He didn’t say, “I understand your situation, at this point, you should be very afraid”, even as the ship they were in was covered with the waves, he asked them “why are ye fearful?”, this is God’s question to you anytime you seem to be in the midst of bad news, danger, flood, fire, pandemic.
He asks the question as though even if the situation seems harmful and dangerous, there is nothing to fear. Yes, because to him, there is nothing to fear!
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4
Nothing takes God by surprise and if he knew this was coming then he has set aside a goodly inheritance just for his children during these times, all he needs from you is your expression of faith.
Brothers and sisters, Jesus isn’t just in your boat, he lives in you. If you think you- your health, business, plans- are about to perish! He says, why are you so fearful? Instead of worrying, do like Jesus- replace worry words with words of peace and calm!
“…Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” Matthew 8:26
