Glory to God; we are constantly improved by the word of God we receive from Pastor every service. Pastor- still in Port Harcourt- started the service by reminding us that in school we learnt about plant being living things as opposed to school desks even though both consist of wood, but in times of danger, a canine would have an advantage over the plant because it can easily escape a flooded area instead remaining stationary like the plant would, proving that even if the dog and plant are classified as living things; the life of a dog seems to be more advanced, just like the life of humans is more advanced than that of a dog and a plant. A more advanced life will still have all the features of the less advanced life plus more, so God can do everything people can- he sits, laughs, builds- but he is not affected by the miseries of the human life and he has made his life available to us.
She emphasized that the life every Christian lives by- sits, eats, walks etc.- is the divine life and there’s more to that life!
She went ahead and read from Romans 8:10-11, showing that the same Spirit that has a history of raising Jesus from hell resides in us, that same Spirit that met a man in death and brought him out of it, if he dwells in us would bring us out of any situation. She pointed out that Jesus being dead for two days would have had his body begin decomposition, but when he resurrected, his body was vitalized! Just like the word states, if that same Spirit dwells in us then he will revitalize our kidneys, intestines, skin etc.
Knowing this the Bible gives us no option as to how to live our lives, he said we are under no obligation to live according to the human nature; meaning we don’t have to respond when something bad happens the way our senses have been taught to respond, the Bible clearly states that if we do live according to the flesh- death is the viable option.
Pastor, through the word of God, espoused to us the insistence of the word that we through the Spirit, should put to death the transactions, deeds of the body- contagious infections the body accepts without our knowledge.
Pastor ended the service by reminding us that since we are under no obligation to live according to our human nature, when we are faced with seemingly challenging situations, our response should be thanksgiving- in everything we should give thanks- and if God says we should thank him in everything, it only means he’s done something about the situation already!
