Praise the Lord! It’s a glorious privilege to be enlightened every time we listen to the teaching of God’s word, this Sunday at Port Harcourt church, Pastor began to teach on the importance of exalting God’s word above the words of others and above whatever traditions may have been passed to us, she made us understand from the words of Jesus in Mark 7:1-13, that whenever we reject the word of God for something else, we make the word of God of none effect in our lives. She referred to the words of Jesus in Mark 12:24 where he told the Sadducees that they erred because they did not know the scriptures, we learnt that anyone who lives without a knowledge of the scriptures is bound to live in error, we also saw that God considers his word more important than any vision, Jesus speaking in a parable let us know that if anyone would not believe the word of God as written in the books of Moses and in the prophets, they would not believe even if someone rose from the dead to preach it to them, Pastor taught us to therefore discard any vision that is not consistent with the word of God, God’s word should be more convincing that any vision, the apostle Peter despite seeing a vision of the Lord knew this, in 2 Peter 1:19 he spoke of a more sure word of prophecy, a word more convincing than the vision he had, the word of God is more sure than any vision and we use the word of God to define what we see, not the other way around. Knowing that the word of God is more important than any tradition or vision, we ought to take it very seriously, allowing it to convince us and to colour our communication, in Romans 14:14, Paul said he was persuaded by the Lord Jesus,  persuaded by the word of God beyond what anyone else said or believed concerning the issue he was addressing, as Christians, we ought to get persuaded by what God has said to us in his word and live our lives accordingly, he has told us in his word that we are his chosen ones and that nothing will by any means hurt us, we don’t need any secondary validation, his word is enough.
