An awesome time of glory yesterday, as Pastor explained to us from the book of Galatians 5:17 “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” how responding based on the information we receive from our flesh (five senses) is absolutely against and contary to responding based on information of the word of God in our spirit. Romans 8:8 “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” She showed us how the word of God further emphasized that such a response has only one end in view- death!
Pastor further explained from Romans 8:12 “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh”. How that we are not under any obligation to live our lives based on what we are seeing or information from our senses taking cues from Jesus, how he disregarded the previous information given him by Jairus’ friends that his daughter was dead and went ahead to ask “Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth” (Mark 5:39), when he got to Jairus’ house. This exemplifies how information come to us, contrary to the truth in God’s word but we don’t not confer with the flesh!
Finally, she showed us from Romans 12:13 how through the spirit we can kill that information we obtained from our flesh, and one efficient way we can do that is by responding according to the word- instead of crying in response to shocking news like our flesh desires, we rejoice for joy, when we do this, we just showed the information our superiority over the situation and hence our assured victory!
