“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”  Hebrews 13:2

It is interesting how the words were arranged in the main verse; he said “be not forgetful”, meaning remember- it is something you should do! Amazing! He said entertain strangers- be hospitable, he said some of those strangers might be angels and even if they are not; the word of God admonishes us to be hospitable to strangers.
He says in the main verse that some entertained angels unawares- meaning it was not obvious to them, the strangers did not look or talk like angels but they were angels.
In the word we see how Lot, in being hospitable to angels, housed his deliverance because those angels were there to protect him. Genesis 19
Abraham, in being hospitable to three men, housed his promised son- for he was in the word that God spake to Sarah after they had ate! Genesis 18
And the person who at first was not sure of the stranger, immediately changed his attitude when he was told the man he saw was the captain of the Lord’s host and he had come to tell him how to win the battle!  Joshua 5:14
So these strangers could be there just for you and so the word in giving you insight says, entertain them. Fear not. Nothing shall by any means hurt you!
