Glory to God! It has been a glorious month of learning about the person and ministry of the holy Spirit. Pastor’s message began with a recap of what we have been learning about his leadership, reminding us of the need to recognise that we are under authority; having been bought with a price, we do not belong to ourselves anymore and we ought to live our lives with that conciousness. She emphasised that the holy Spirit is not in us to be used as a tool, he is the greater one and his purpose in us is to lead us, hence the need to wait for his leading and not make hasty decisions, he knows better what is happening and what needs to happen and he has a plan to ensure that things fall into place.

Pastor taught us to vocalise the things we believe so that when situations arise, we are able to stand fast in what we have said as what we have heard ourselves say becomes a force that cannot be easily explained away. She taught us to prioritise the voice of God over the opinion of men because God’s opinion is always greater as we are told in 1 John 5:9 and she challenged us to get ourselves to a point where only God and his word matters to us and to respond accordingly as Jesus did in John 2:23-24, she reminded us that the Spirit of God will always lead us in line with God’s word and therefore, the word of God must be our propelling force such that even when it seems late or what he says sounds ridiculous, we would remain committed to doing it.

From Isaiah 40:28-31, we learnt that God neither faints nor gets weary, he will not get tired of or give up on us, we also saw that there is no limit to his understanding of the situation. We learnt that even the young and agile when motivated by their own strength will eventually get tired but those that wait for God’s leading and act based on his word will have their strength renewed and move with ease like the eagle does. We also saw in Zechariah 4:6-7, a picture of what God can do, he can turn any mountain into a plain not by physical efforts but by his Spirit, we saw that God wants to beautify our lives in such a way that people will see us and acknowledge that only him could have have it and this will only happen as we wait on him and follow his voice. Pastor rounded up her message with Acts 1:8 teaching us that when the Holy Ghost came upon and indwelt us, we received the ability to cause changes, just as the Holy Ghost came upon Saul and turned him into another man, we can change our lives to become more productive, bolder and wiser through the Holy Ghost. Halleluyah!
