“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
1 John 4:20
In the word of God, there are indicators, for example in the main verse, we see two: the proof that we love God is that we love the brethren and our participation in that which is seen is an indicator of our participation in that which is unseen.
The word of God also trains us on how to express indicators, for example he says:
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;” James 1:2
So the indicator that you are facing diverse (not just one) temptations (challenges) shouldn’t be complaining, sorrow, a change of plans or a despair of life, he says, indicate joy!
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials,” James 1:2, ISV
Your body, your mind and your expressions are yours- we’ve seen cases where someone expresses sudden anger simply because the one with whom he or she is quarreling with passed by, or cases where an individual refrains himself from laughing even in a very hilarious scenario because he reads the room; all of these proving, our emotional expressions can be controlled.
Use that knowledge and do the word of God, you could be pressed to indicate sadness, instead he says, indicate joy- sing, laugh, jump, rejoice, give thanks, when you are in the midst of challenges. Joy has expressions. Put away sorrow, it does no good and would leave the situation worse off:
“…but the sorrow of the world produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10, ISV
